Literacy Now
Literacy Now is a Houston nonprofit founded in 2006 to empower children and families through literacy, mentoring, and community-based programs. Serving more than 2,200 students and parents
annually—and over 28,000 since its inception—the organization provides reading intervention, literacy development, and parent engagement designed to support long-term academic success. By helping students read at grade level, Literacy Now is opening doors to graduation, opportunity, and a brighter future for Houston families.
San José Clinic
San José Clinic is a Houston-based nonprofit founded in 1922 to provide high-quality healthcare to uninsured and underserved individuals. Serving thousands of patients each year through
its Midtown and Fort Bend locations, the clinic offers comprehensive services including medical, dental, vision, laboratory, and pharmacy care. For over a century, San José Clinic has
remained committed to removing barriers to care and improving health outcomes—ensuring that every patient has access to a healthcare home and a healthier future.
The Beacon
Since its inception in 2007, The Beacon has remained committed to serving individuals experiencing homelessness by providing essential and next-step services that restore hope. Located
in the heart of downtown Houston, The Beacon often serves as the entry point to a community-wide homeless response system made up of more than 100 partner agencies known as The Way Home.
By offering essential services such as hot meals, showers, and laundry facilities, mailbox access, civil legal aid, counseling and mentoring, and housing case management, The Beacon empowers
individuals while connecting them to long-term solutions designed to make homelessness brief, rare, and nonrecurring. As a central hub for the Coordinated Entry System, The Beacon participates
in a standardized, community-wide process that connects individuals to housing and supportive services using data-driven methods.
Civic Heart Community Services
Civic Heart Community Services is a Houston nonprofit founded in 1989 that provides comprehensive programs to support underserved and vulnerable populations. Serving more than 65,000
individuals annually, the organization offers youth development programs, housing support, healthcare access, and services for justice-involved youth and families. Through its holistic approach and commitment to equity, Civic Heart is creating lasting change and expanding opportunities for individuals and families across Houston.
Target Hunger
Target Hunger is a Houston nonprofit founded in 1989 to alleviate hunger and address its root causes in underserved communities. Serving more than 25,000 individuals annually across Houston’s
northeast and east regions, the organization provides food assistance through pantries, home delivery, mobile distribution, youth programs, and community partnerships. Through its comprehensive approach, Target Hunger is working to ensure that every family has access to nutritious food and the opportunity to thrive.
